Well, it’s the beginning of the end - either of the Trump administration, or democracy in America.
Hey - writing that statement to convince everyone that he’s not firing Comey because of the investigation into the Russia ties, when he’s clearly firing him because of the investigation into the Russia ties? This counts as “clever” for Trump. Not only does it get believed by his supporters, he can now honestly state, because everyone will be discussing his claim, that “everyone is saying I wasn’t under investigation!”
(I suspect either someone else added the “nevertheless” in there for him, or Trump told the letter writer to really hammer home the point that he’s totally not under investigation.)
I joke, but on the other hand - it’s a very real possibility. Also possibly Joe Arpaio.

I’m very disappointed that Trump’s WH has only called Yates a Hillary Clinton plant and not already tweeted out bragging about Comey getting what he deserves for stepping and lock her up.
While I realize it will never happen is there anything in the constitution that would keep an impeached president from going to prison. Not on the basis of impeachment itself but for any of the multitude of felonies he has committed throughout his pathetic existence. The thought of that happening could make me smile despite the second in line.
