A common tactic of someone with NPD is to put out so much bullshit so fast that no one has time to refute his falsehoods before he’s already spewing out another one. The goal is to constantly keep the burden of proof on the other party, control the conversation, and prevent them from digging in on any any one issue. If someone starts asking too many questions about anything in particular, they change the subject and deflect.

While unemployment has fallen to a near half-century low, job growth has slowed on Trump’s watch, with 6.3 million jobs added during the last 33 months, compared with 7.4 million jobs during the last 33 months under President Obama.
Last I checked, 6.3 million jobs (source: NPR) ≠ “14 million jobs” (source: tRump).

The president is not well. Gods know where this number came from. Normally there’s a number which he first misunderstands and then he adds zeros to every time he mentions it, which in this case would mean that the number wasn’t about jobs and had nothing to do with Ivanka and is some orders of magnitude less than 14 million.
In reality I’d honestly be very surprised if Ivanka created 14 jobs in the US since he was elected. (Since her knock-off clothing line was shut down and wasn’t replaced with anything new, I’m guessing she’s running a job deficit in recent years.)
To put this in perspective, Walmart, the US’s biggest private employer, doesn’t even employ 1.4 million people here (it’s 1.3 million). Trump is claiming Ivanka employed more than 10 times Walmart’s entire US work force. (Even globally they only employ two million people.) The US Department of Defense is the world’s largest employer, and they only have 3 million workers. Literally no one employs anything close to 14 million people.
The number of people who worked in sweatshops making her clothing was probably closer to 140. (Those workers produce a lot of clothing over very long work days; Ivanka’s line never sold a whole lot. I know one Indonesian sweatshop that produced goods for her only employed a few dozen people.)
“14 million” is an exaggeration of an exaggeration of a number that most likely started as a total fabrication.
Also, Trump increasingly speaks in situations where no one can ask him questions at all (or are very constrained, with Trump getting to pick only the ones he wants to answer). This is why he doesn’t have press conferences, for instance, but prefers to have people shouting at him outside before he gets on a helicopter.

It really wouldn’t matter. With his “believers” and the complicit republicans, he can pretty much say whatever he wants too and they’ll fall all over themselves to make it true.

Yep, another symptom of NPD. They will inflate real numbers, and keep repeating it until they believe the inflated number themselves. Then over time they will repeat the process to further inflate the same number. After a while the figure gets ridiculous, but they will insist and believe themselves that it is the truth.
If you later prove to them to their face what the real original number number is, they get extremely angry and start throwing things. Good times.
