Trump says U.S. grocery stores are out of bread

Who cares about bread as long as grocery stores have 30 different flavors of Doritos. /s

(Ponders making bread from ground up Doritos)

My wife does the grocery ordering for curbside pickup, she used to check the no substitution box but then the order would end up being much smaller so now she allows substitutions.

It’s always an adventure. The person that brings out the groceries always wants her to check that they picked the right things, nope, surprise us.

There are a lot of products missing but no one is starving.

The one exception is cat food, especially wet food. We finally spent about 300 bucks from various online sources to get ahead of the game because it’s getting harder to come by. From what I understand some of that is due to packaging issues.

Now that the idea is out there, I think that it’s pretty much inevitable. We cannot fight our Doritos-based destiny.

Pretty sure this is his George Bush going into a supermarket and being amazed by checkout scanner - except that he’s not actually been into a supermarket

Instead of baloney, there needs to be a pile of :poop:
And replace the pickle with a small :mushroom:

They’ve been doing that for as long as I can remember… and they don’t just blame the previous administration, either. I’m so old, I can remember when the term ‘Liberal’ wasn’t a curse word they like to snarl.

They also take credit for popular bills they voted against!

It makes perfect sense from their POV. Take all the credit, none of the blame. The only people it bothers won’t vote for 'em anyway, & the people that vote for them don’t care about silly things like the Truth.

Of course they won’t. Not while You Know Who is still alive, that is. Probably not even after he is dead, either, depending on how much more deranged their base has become by then.
Look how long it took before any of 'em would dare besmirch the name & legacy of Holy St. Reagan.

As far as altering Reality is concerned, anyone else remember this evil fuck?:

Ultimately it has to be a funhouse-mirror version of something he heard on Fox

Grocery stores are running out of buttermilk though. Guess making your own breakfast isn’t a thing anymore :person_shrugging:

It’s true though, i just checked at Tiffany and at the hardware store: no bread in either

I was engaged to a Marxist once. She was amazing. Biden is sure af not a Marxist. Trump on the other hand is definitely a fascist. Neither of them is amazing.

Pretty much every time there is snow in the forecast we run out of bread and milk, but it’s temporary, and expected. We usually have a loaf in the freezer and a quart of UHT milk for this. Pro tip: when the grocery store is out of milk, you can usually find some at the gas station convenience mart.

Yep. An old Republican told me back when Clinton was in office and the economy was booming, “the current president always gets credit for the actions of the previous one,” meaning it was really thanks to the previous guy. I saw him 2.5 years into Obama’s tenure and he was moaning about Obama ruining the economy and I said, “but you told me when I was a kid,…etc.,” and he shouted, “ITS BEEN 4 YEARS!” I was so taken aback I don’t think I even responded. That 2.5 years became 4 years was just  No care for the truth, indeed.

It’s really easy to make if you have some milk and vinegar or lemon juice. Put 1 T of either acid in a cup, fill with milk to make one cup. I never buy buttermilk anymore because I never used up the whole container in time.

True Man of the People, so relatable. I’m hoping someone gets to interview Mrs. Trump, to see what he ended up ordering. (“What, he hasn’t sent you anything from Tiffany’s since you were married?”)
Previous gifts have included " “a beautiful card and some beautiful flowers”, and mailing addresses from a million stupid voters.

True, but then you never use the whole container in time. I tend to buy it by the half gallon, and the acidification of milk thing rarely produced the same results.

Interesting. Not to turn this into the food thread, but what do you notice as a difference? I would only ever buy it for biscuits, but it’s been so long since I made the switch, I can’t really remember any difference.

texture, thickness. It’s really noticeable in pancakes.

spose everyone knows that ukraine supplies the world with a third of worlds bread basket

Another related pro tip: check the baking aisle for canned evaporated milk, and for UHT shelf-stable milk, it’s often still around after the fresh milk is sold out.
