This coming from him, who he HIMSELF voted for himself from Florida BY MAIL, along with the rest of his family, is just fucking hilarious.
He needs a career in stand up comedy.
"its ok when I do it, even for myself, even though its totally legal, but to anyone else it’s fraud’ is a bullshit line of arguement from a sentient (barely) pile of bullshit
Missouri is allowing people over 65 to vote by mail with out being notarized. If I did it, it would have to be notarized. I kinda wanna vote by mail to flip a bird to the idiots talking about it, but I honestly am not sure which would be less of a PITA…
Found the prescriptivist!
At a guess…
In Oregon we have voted by mail since the 80s and conducted the first presidential election entirely by mail in 2000. It works perfectly, we overwhelmingly love VBM and motor voter, and have some of the highest voter turnout in the nation. I wonder what his idiotic plan for us will be?
My guess is he’ll either pretend Oregon and Washington don’t exist, because that’d detract from his message that it Just Can’t Be Done!
Alternatively, he’ll say that’s why we vote blue. All that fraud!
Ohmygod language evolves over time and our communication structures evolve along with it!
While we’re at it let’s get rid of all slang added to the language in the last 500 years. How many new words did Shakespeare introduce to the language? We must expunge his plays!
(and as far as I’m aware, the peach emoji is the ass character)
But we don’t vote blue. We may be solidly in the blue column for federal races, but state races are competitive. And counties outside the liberal cities are basically solid red.
This. The GOP is opposed to letting people vote, because they do the worse the more people do vote. And vote-by-mail is an excellent, easy way of removing bullshit obstacles from voting. So of course they’re fundamentally opposed to it. “If we wanted democracy, we’d be Democrats!!”
insert “Old man yells at clouds” meme here.
For several years, I worked with someone who had narcissistic personality disorder, and I saw this behavior over and over. To them, saying you are doing something is absolutely no different than actually doing it. And they get livid if you point out the fact that it hasn’t happened yet. They’re so convinced of the self-perceived achievements they already checked off as ‘done’, that they can’t handle the cognitive dissonance when presented with the reality that they didn’t actually do anything yet.
well, you don’t pour money in to insecure touch screen voting for no reason
Absolutely. We Washingtonians (and Coloradans, Oregonians, Utahns, and Hawaii residents) all look on in blithe wonder that anyone would have anything but all mail-in voting. It’s easy, secure, reduces combustion miles, and brightens the teeth, (ok, i’m not sure about that last one). The only reason not to immediately adopt this civilized method is because one is a republican and suspects that more people inclined to vote means fewer republicans.
do you

Whenever I have the time
Beat me to it. I was gonna post: He felt compelled to put “I think” in quotes because, ya know, he doesn’t know how it feels to actually think.
And the “electronic” notary exception for those isolating expires in mid-June.
I am considering becoming a notary just to help people vote by mail. Haven’t sorted out how long that takes or how I would be able to put that in action for the election.
A Russian agent publicly interferes with U.S. elections by threatening retaliation. The Republican Party is completely silent, because that Russian agent is their leader.
The Republican Party has not been able to win fair & open elections for perhaps a couple of decades. As their demographics and self-imposed exclusionary philosophies continue to shrink their ranks, they turn to increasingly more desperate, unethical, and illegal tactics to turn elections in their favor. Time is running out, and now their only hope is to seize power at a national level by any means necessary, and use it to enact permanent single-party Republican rule.
