He would make a pretty good ROUS.
Well that definitely explains that then.
I think it was Josh Marshall who coined a version of Occam’s razor: if there are multiple explanations for why Trump did something, the stupidest is the most likely.
I want to see him recover enough to go to jail, though. Other members of this administration need to spend time in jail, too. I’m sick of seeing privileged men who abused their power suddenly acting frail and relying on canes, walkers, and wheelchairs when it’s time to go to court. After that, they complain that they’re too sick to be incarcerated, get lighter sentences, and/or wind up released early because being sick in prison is hard.
Let them reap what they’ve sown in the criminal “justice” system. Not saying anyone should get unusual punishment, but they should experience the lack of freedom like everyone else who is convicted. Of course, they’ll see getting much less in housing, food, clothing, medical care, and communication with others as cruel, even if they wind up in a “country club” prison.
yeah, agreed, 100%-
But when someone the last time people like this get jailed?
We can’t jail cops who have clear evidence of murder on tape against them, despite all the anger directed at them, what makes you actually think Cheetolini will do jailtime?
Believe me, I’m praying hard it happens, I want him ruined and jailed for the rest of his miserable life.
I’m just hoping for a more likely option
I’m hoping that the magnitude of his crimes and blood on his hands will make a difference. I doubt we’ve ever seen someone in that office commit the number of offenses we’ve seen from his administration in a single term. If state and federal officials proceed with charges on a fraction of it (and succeed with penalties), that would be better than the usual.
In the past, we’ve had leaders who succeeded criminals pull out the old platitudes about forgiveness - with no remorse or atonement on the part of the perpetrator. Those days are done. We should not allow them to ignore it or cover it up. A message should to be delivered about consequences, so that members of any political party considering a repeat of the disaster we’ve had to live with for the past few years will think more than twice. It needs to be made very clear that they will pay a heavy price.
The government is going to have to spend a lot our of time and money closing loopholes, adjusting rules, and correcting issues in our system of checks and balances because of the actions (and inaction) of this clown. The worst possible message to send is to let him and his cronies get away with it. I’m in the group that is not going to forgive - or forget.
Ideal scenario for a fitting punishment is one where he’s still alive and conscious, but completely unable to move or speak; a prisoner of his own body.
I’d add Nurse Ratched to that scenario. Somebody’s gotta read to him, right? She could start with the daily news about his company going down in flames, his family and “friends” turning on him before going to jail, and the new administration enacting the humane and progressive policies to benefit the people and organizations he tried to destroy.
The reliance on someone like himself as a ‘caregiver’ was implied.

Yeah, I can’t tell if I picked the best, or the worst time to binge the backlog of the Behind the Bastards podcast…

I wonder if there’s a safe way to make sure 45 would see his own reflection several times a day. Maybe the sight of himself in a prison jumpsuit - along with his natural skin color and hair - might deflate his oversize ego.
