Yep, I wouldn’t bother to pile on this except for one thing: Some government officials are really good at the nuts and bolts of governing and some are really good at the pomp and circumstance. I would have pegged Trump & Friends as being more of the latter. Face it, this is a failure to throw a promotional party.
Given that HBO owns first broadcast rights to Sesame Street now it’s an apt tribute to privatization and capitalism.
I think a Sesame Street/Westworld crossover is in order to attend the Egg Roll.
I’d love to see a Sesame Street/Oz crossover. Then we can see what Gordon is packing underneath those slacks.
Gordon? I was wonder what Oscar was hiding behind the can.
Better call The Count. He’s good at measurements.
That’s why it always attracts such unsavory characters.
I do believe that’s the pride of Toledo, second from the right. Klinger!
If anyone could scavenge some extra eggs for this shindig it’s that guy.
I live on the west coast. However, I wouldn’t classify this type of event as important to running the government. In general, I’m just not big on ceremony and fluff.
I’m surprised that he doesn’t just relocate it to one of his “properties” and make the manager there organize it.
Actually, he hasn’t already promoted one of this hotel managers (or country club manager) to the day to day operations of the White House?
You can’t forget the eggrolls! They’re delicious. Don’t exactly get their connection to rabbits though…
Ahem. They are also called springrolls.
(Yeah, different wrappers. I know.)
Ah yes, and… Easter is in Spring! Is this the work of Obama’s shadow government?? Or Putin’s more obvious one??
in that case, tell e’m to bring those androids from Westworld. I wanna shoot me a cattle rustler.
“Shoot one.”
Sure sure. Whatever you want to call it, pal.
Somewhere else in this movie, you’ll also find Father Mulcahy!
Well, that turkey was no angel…
Wasn’t there a show where different groups were judged on their ability to organize and carry out different challenges or something?
I had the chance to attend one of these as a kid. I don’t remember much pomp aside from a brief address by the president and first lady. I do remember the chance to briefly scurry across the White House lawn in exchange for a wooden egg signed by some sportsketballer, then getting to partake of a bunch of vaguely educational activities. Granted, at that age just about everything seemed to be sold on some educational merit, but the egg roll was fun. I think I met Clifford. This is not a difficult event to pull off, with a lot handled by volunteers. Find an artist, an issue, some authors, a couple of bands, some costumes, etc. It looks like the 1998 theme was just “The Internet.” https://clinton3.nara.gov/WH/glimpse/Easter/1998/index.html
