I’m glad you know yourself well enough then to make a safe decision, the right one for you and your family and friends. The equation was different for me, and will be different for everyone else, but its apparent how powerfully afraid they are of armed minorities.

These folks, who love the idea of a culture war escalating into a real war, dream of a scenario like Srebrenica in the 1990s. They are appalled that their victims might fight back. In their minds, war is clean and they will come out of it refreshed.

Republicans told us for years that the Nazis and the Holocaust might have been stopped if the Jews had fought back before their guns were taken away. Now we find out that they were the Nazis all along.
Also a quick reminder that trans people were among the first victims of the Nazis, because genocide denial is the cool new thing for Republicans.*
* yes, I know about the long history of genocide denial in the USA.

I want to post the XKCD “Girls are bad at math” cartoon, but I think it is too soon for that just yet. Same idea though. As a SWM, I have never had any blow-back from all the SWM mass shooters that have mass shootered. But any other group will see themselves pilloried if any member of that group commits a horrific crime like this. And that sucks ass.

Apart from trans people are only in disguise for their own safety and can’t turn into vehicles or weapons, just into more rounded, empathetic versions of ourselves if we’re brave enough to come out.

As a fan of old-school automatons I have to quibble with that- there are definitely non-binary robots out there that work with cams and linkages. (We even built one together as a joint senior project, remember?)
