Wait a second, soon they will be trying to tell me that “Nothing is real”, but they can’t fool me, I know that “Everything is not real”. I live in 2022, we are post-real.
Wow, cool sister you got there!
Oh, dear.
im suspecting we’ll just allow two labels for the same group and tell future generations our label makers didn’t have great adhesive so we had to try twice
or, since one word is so much shorter than the other ( 4 whole letters! ) maybe we can just claim it’s an abbreviation. ia for iowa, blvd for boulevard, bird for dinosaur - see. it all makes sense.
Obviously shills for big Bird.
That’s awfully speciesist of them. Every woke butterfly knows that birds are fakes designed to spy on them. It’s the sleeping butterflies that allow the lie to be perpetuated.
They have proof! This video documents the existence of fake spy birds! Wake up!
Cool. Thanks for posting.
How.
How the hell is this even a question that a goddamn gouverment agency has to verify?
We are really heading towards Idiocracy, arent we?
Birds Aren’t Real is even more cringe than FLYING SPAGETI MONSTER LOL and at least that won’t result in stochastic terrorism against the RSPCA, or in people poisoning pigeons in the park
have we learned nothing from Flat Earth? yeah bad-faith arguing with people online is a fun hobby but putting these ideas out there is no longer just a game
Adding this again, since it appears some late arrivals might not have seen it further up:
The guy started it as a parody to kind of poke fun at anti-abortion activists and has since used it at a bunch of right-wing protests to point out the ridiculousness of many of their claims. It’s built a pretty big work of other young activists wrestling with this post-truth reality they’ve grown up in, a network of support and real activism. And media literacy.
He just finally “broke character” last year but is still keeping the thing going. We shall see.
Big Bird was actually a prototype. He’s not really a bird; there’s a man inside manipulating his movements, with internal cables for moving his head and jaw. Later “birds” such as the “eagle” on the Muppet show were manipulated from underneath and their voices dubbed in by bird voice specialists.
Advances in robotics and AI after the 1980s through today allowed for automation and miniaturization of “bird” functions to the point that there are birds called hummingbirds that have all those robotic elements in a package as small as a quarter! It only takes one look at Big “Bird” to see how far we’ve come!
Correct.
Birds evolved from trees too?
Cool. But that looks exhausting!
