I havenât the google-fu today, but I recall reading some numbers: at the peak of The Troubles, the IRA had about 400 active members. Keeping a lid on them tied up around 10,000 UK soldiers.

Well I mean the Tories had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the table by their paymasters in the City and made to stay there by ClintonâŠ
But yeah, I will go so far to say that there are elements of the British security forces that have not ceased engaging in The Troubles though they no longer go round shooting people in public. Or torturing as a Tory MP recently admitted to.

He had to distance himself from the other stuff to be credible in politics. I saw it in my grandfatherâs secret police files when I got them from the UK (they are so helpful with this stuff), he was the youngest and kept âcleanâ for politics while his brothers and cousins did the killing.
Mind you the secret police still planted a gun and ammunition on him and when he won in court (theyâd used the gun before and the ammo didnât even match!) they just imprisoned him without trial anyway.
Iâm not sure if the Grauniad article has it but Iâm impressed with Clinton not buying Gerryâs shit in response to this.
