Watch: Dave Grohl crashes God-fearing protestors with a spectacular surprise

My former art teacher, Betty Dickerson, and her husband Bill Dickerson, knew Birger and were affiliated with the Prairie Printmakers.

I’ve seen a couple of his works in person while living in Kansas, but they were becoming rather dirty over time. Have they been taking good care of the ones you’ve seen?

The two huge ones we had at the Beach were pretty clean. We did look closely at the works to note issues, so I did see pencil marks, brush hairs, and I swear to god something that looked like an old bug pupa or egg pod.

But he painted super thick and if it is exposed to things like people smoking, chimneys, or that Kansas dust from the plains, I could see them needing a good cleaning. Which we can now do safely, it just cost money.

Beach Museum which I haven’t been to in 20 years, was a good repository for regionalist works, including some nice large John Steuart Curry, and some Thomas Hart Benton prints, as well as what ever part of the rotating/special collection is up. And they have a nice Chihuly, but, I mean, find me a half way decent sized art museum that doesn’t have one

Ah yes, I came here to suggest just that! C’mon, Heat-Moon makes the place look really interesting.
You can feel the prairie wind going whoooooosh when you read it.

A little visual treat for people who actually love Kansas (despite some of the jerks who live there), by a family friend, John D. Morrison.

I still enjoy driving through the Flint Hills. Some great wide open views.
