And really, even if they don’t “delight” in it, they will do it because they know that’s what gets the coverage and the votes. And that’s just as bad, if not worse.
I’m sure they have a long list of things that are bad on Sesame Street: they show people of color, they speak Spanish, the Count is obviously an immigrant…
This is what disgusts me. Folks who admire and support bullies. Most of us left grade school and high school a long time ago, but there are people who want the whole world run that way. Of course, that includes the fantasy that the kids (led by the BMOC, best jock, or worst bully) are in charge - not the adults.
Ted Cruz is properly represented by sad trombone noises, best kept off screen.
There’s only one children’s show they hate more.
Except the children generally treat the trombone-voiced adults with some modicum of respect.
Huh. I wish some intrepid reporter would buttonhole Cruz and make him explain the Peppermint Patty insult. It would be fun to watch him squirm, because you know he’d never admit that it’s meant to be an anti-lesbian slur.
Ted Cruz should stick to what he’s good for, ass kissing traitors & dictators.
Why not? His daughter is bisexual and anyway, she only has one vote is too young to vote
Edit: I forgot she is too young to vote
I think the only think they can remember is the strips where Peppermint Patty would bring home a D- no matter how hard she tried.
Ah yes, the famous lost Beach Boys record.
Well, not so much lost as “all copies destroyed and never spoken of again”. Too many Charles Manson penned songs
The closest match I can come up with for Ted Cruz in the Peanuts universe…sad excuse for a tree.
Just random antigingerism.
Whats [more] sad is: he’s such a bad, dead-fish performer, you can tell he had this so-called jab at the ready, pre-written, in his back pocket, supplied by a staffer. At least with Trump, when he extemporizes, it actually seems like you’re listening to an unrehearsed 9 year-old.
This.
Although, knowing Cruz, and knowing his intended audience, I bet he was trying to imply lesbianism.
(And “encouraged people to boo [her]”?? I mean, I’m not surprised but the next time he or any of his friends complain about politics becoming “uncivil” or describing the left as “hateful” this can be brought up.)
You would compare that monster to the Christmas tree? Blasphemy! Those two are nothing alike!
They were able to fix the tree, so I fear you are correct.
Ted Cruz, not even the people that vote for him like him. To quote an ex-president, “Sad!”
It would be delicious if the Charles Schultz Estate stepped in and offered an opinion.
