Gizmodo’s description was completely inaccurate: this was not an “effort to prove election fraud”. This was strictly an effort made to appear as if an effort was being made to prove election fraud.
There were well-qualified people invited to verify the evidence. They repeatedly asked the people in charge for evidence so they could verify it. Nobody in charge made any effort to provide them with so much as a single packet of data.
Nobody in charge did anything except sell pillows and repeat hollow lies.
The distinction is important: this was part of the effort to manufacture support for his lies. The truth was not welcome.

I miss the days when being wrong over and over and over and over carried any sort of negative consequences. Now they can just band together with the huge population of equally wrong, stupid, shameless clowns and get as much validation as they need to do it all over again. Exactly. People like lindell used to be the idiot dancing on the side of the road that people maybe looked at as they drove by then went on with their lives. The problem is now people are stopping and dancing with him. Are people getting stupider or more gullible? Not really. Instead of basing what they believe on what the learn, they are seeking out proof (defined very loosely) to enforce what they want to be true.
