You’ll notice that the opening of the safe was filmed after the safe had already been drilled and opened. No real-time video appears to exist of the actual opening…so I guess we’ll never know how many doubloons were actually in the safe…

the safe was full of all our hopes and dreams. you might not have seen them, but as soon as it was opened they were returning to their original owners.

Oh and for the record, this turned out exactly like all my treasure hunting shows, curse of oak island, treasure quest snake island, etc. if i’ve learned anything from them, an empty safe isn’t a lack of treasure it is a clue to look somewhere else.
