I don’t think so. Comey is looking to cover his own ass exclusively. He stirred shit over treacherous emails! When there was nothing there. While never acknowledging the ongoing investigation(s) into Trump’s campaign that have turned out to be much more serious. According to all those leaks much of the FBI under his watch is heavily politicised. During the election they were apparently more interested in “getting” Hillary then doing their fucking jobs. So he responded in way that was intended to cover his ass. Stir shit about emails. Placate the internal nut jobs, prevent his own party from eating him for not doing enough in emails, and take a posture of doing what was necessary to give a shield from the dems.
Dude is craven. He’s probably got plenty of agents with zero interest in investing Trump. But he’s under intense public pressure to deal with it. While working for a president who’s taint he needs to lick to keep his job. When the blow up comes he’ll be part of it.

Interesting that you say that. Personally, I’ve seen no evidence of it. He lets the shit fly and makes no effort to get out of the way and mostly avoids talking about it.

One has to wonder just how expensive this farce was as well. I am sure he was lavishly compensated for his “work” and probably gets a nice severance package too. People at that level rarely lose a nickel even when found molesting underage zebras.
Maybe, just maybe, the toad in the White House will come to learn he cannot run the government entirely by fiat as though he owned it.
It’s almost as if he is channeling the ghost of Idi Amin (Minus the horrific bloodshed…so far at least.)

Yeah. That tangled web also includes the fact that Bannon & Kushner were the ones who prevented McMaster from removing Ezra Cohen-Watnick. You might remember Mr Cohen-Watnick from his role as one of two White House officials people who “leaked” to Nunes, so Nunes could make a show of bringing that info to the White House

Why else make that announcement about Hillary while keeping the Trump shit quiet even under pressure from the public and congressmen to acknowledge them or do something. He did not confirm the Trump investigation until directly asked under oath in a Congressional hearing. Policy, proper law enforcement practice and the law dictate not acknowledging these things, especially during the election. There have been continued leaks about the character of the FBI during g the election. All of which look very bad in terms of how Comey runs things.
More over I know lots of people in Law enforcement. Including some FBI peeps. All of them who aren’t highly in favor of doing things wrong to help the Drumpf are extremely dissapointed, even embarrassed with Comey. He’s the sort of creature you see a lot in large departments and federal agencies. He’s a political animal, but not one with ambitions of control. Play the politics, climb the career path. Watch your own ass at all costs. Those guys can be effective administrators. But in a corrupt or politicized situation they go along. They break policy and do wrong and/or take a stand and do right exclusively to protect themselves. And they’ll rat Fuck the whole system to keep themselves safely employed and in the good graces of who ever is above them. It’s just all too familiar to me. So far as I can tell that’s been Comey’s reputation all along. But now the negative end of it is coming out.
