I’m assuming many will take the view “OK, screw you America! You want a Biden-run communist dictatorship, go for it, you’ll learn the hard way!” And they’ll just sit at home on election day.
Or maybe they’ll try a massive write-in campaign for Donny.

Yup, and since they haven’t explained what they should think yet, they don’t have an answer. It’s sadly ironic how many of them repeat en masse the same tired mantras/slogans/etc, regardless of merit or veracity simply because they have no ability (or desire) to process and think for themselves. Take the Herman Cain subreddit for example, where people have died to COVID after proclaiming it’s fake/not real/vax is a plot to kill everyone. You can pick any two posts at random and have 50% of the material posted by those poor people be identical.

I’d love to see a complete void in Trump’s place if it turns out he’s not eligible to run again because of his crimes. Though I’m half-expecting that if that happens the Democrats will find some way of pardoning him and getting him back on the ballot… in an attempt to win over right-wing voters.

Be fair to MAGAts tho! How are they supposed to come up with names if nobody is sending them mailers and talking on Faux Tabloid Sensations every night and there aren’t any TwXtter beefs boiling over? So far it’s just Christie, right? Oh, wait what? There are THIRTEEN candidates? Yeah but Ramaswamy is hard to say. But now that I see the names, I’m torn. President Binkley has a real ring to it, don’t it?

I think that’s likely. Voter turnout was significantly higher in 2016 and 2020. Some of that was due to people who saw through Trump’s bs wanting to make sure he didn’t win, but a lot of it was that Trump motivated a lot of people to vote who had never voted before. A lot of the people with the MAGA hats and t-shirts were not regular voters before Trump. And I think they view this more like sports than like something that actually will affect their lives. For various, and mostly bad, reasons, they became fans of Trump. They love team Trump, and they are ride-or-die fans. They support him the way some people support the Philadelphia Eagles, or U of Alabama, or whoever. “My team, right or wrong. I’m not a fair weather fan.” And people talking about Fox News…these particular voters aren’t watching Fox News. They aren’t watching or reading any traditional news sources. They’re getting their information from similar minded people on Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok, etc.

He’s not allowed to hold office. That doesn’t mean he can’t run and it doesn’t mean he can’t win an election. Or – claim he won an election and get the Supreme Court to agree he can hold office.
