That’s a very mature way to think about it, and I suspect true of a lot of the “my child is LGBTQ+ because of (a book, a movie, a trans character, the drag show they never saw, etc), but certainly not because that’s just who they really are.”

I once got off the plane at O’Hare and there were a group of guys all dressed in identical dresses, wigs, and shoes. I don’t know why they were dressed like that (and the beards were dead giveaways that they were men) but they seemed to be really happy and I remember the sum total of my reaction was to smile and keep going.
Remember how you didn’t need to insert yourself into other people having their own life and not bothering anyone?

I suspect she’s really careful about what she does at work, even as she’s seemingly pretty reckless with her displays of bigotry everywhere else, so they don’t have cause to fire her.
It feels like she was committed to her rant, realized that putting on makeup and fancy clothing were not exactly things that anyone could reasonably get upset about (I mean seriously, “fancy clothes”?), especially at a time when more cis het men are wearing makeup (again), so she threw in the bit about penis cutting, even though it didn’t make a damn bit of sense in the context.
Feels like it should be a meme “My son might think he can put on fancy clothing! (shocked/horrified reaction)”
Yeah, for the sharks. “Aren’t you ashamed of yourselves? What if my child sees you, and decides he’s going to wear a fin and eat fish and cut out his lungs!?” (Because if just seeing drag queens is going to make her kid trans, you know seeing sharks is going to have an even bigger impact…)
Jebus Christ. “I spent the better part of a year insisting I had a medical issue, and doctors finally gave me treatment, with plenty of informed consent. They should have known I was faking!!” It would serve her right if her medical records permanently contained a note that she fakes conditions. “Oh, you say you’re in pain. Well, we can’t believe you, you could be faking, so for the sake of caution - no pain meds.”
No, it’s the (bigot) screaming that’s the bit that you wouldn’t want your kids to see.
Especially if you were her kid. That would be pretty traumatizing.

ok, so I live in the community that this asshole is from and she is well known and a pariah. She has taken actions that are considered doxxing and routinely harasses teachers, parents, community members, etc… who defend trans folks, heck at that point, anyone who is an ally at all. She routinely shows up at the Farmer’s Market, School events (she has to be at distance as there are multiple restraining orders from various folks/entities against her), Pride events, you name it.
I see a lot of “why doesn’t UCD fire her” and, believe me, there is a ton of interest and desire to see that happen from the community and within the UC. BUT, as a government job it is extremely hard to fire people and, apparently, she has walked as close she can to that line. Some would argue, over it, but then the issue becomes fear of a massive lawsuit.
She has shared info w/ the broader Moms of Liburty community that have lead to bomb threats, school closing, death threats, you name it.
It is also commonly known (and believed) that the root of all this troubling behavior is that one of her children is trans and when that child got support from the schools and legal system she went off her rocker.
Everyone here, other than her small support group, despise her and wish we could run her out of town.

Oh, yeah. Last year we had a couple incidents of PBs coming to school board meetings. But, as far as anyone can tell they are from outside of Davis. In town she has a small group (when I see them it’s from 3-10) of locals who are of the same mindset, but she is the only one who behaves so completely whack-a-doo.
What has happened is that she has shared her exploits, etc… with broader allies and that has lead to teachers (including personal friends of mine) being threatened, bomb threats closing schools, etc… She’s a 100% menace.
