… even the ones I keep in a drawer? /silly
(Until I went on E some two and a half months ago, when I went out in girl mode, I put inserts in. I have noticed some development in the chesticle department in the past month, though, which pleases me greatly.)
People kept telling me to “grow a pair”, so I did… just not the pair they expected.
… and it’s stunts like this that hurt everyone legitimately looking to get comfortable in their own body. My reasons for transitioning are primarily mentally related - Since I started on HRT, I’ve been a lot more level headed, less depressed, and genuinely happier. the physical ‘side effects’ are a pleasant bonus.
I went through the informed consent process in Arizona on my own, mainly because my health insurance doesn’t cover gender affirming care, and while it went much faster and smoother than I thought, it boiled down to ‘initial and sign six pages worth of informed consent documentation, have your therapist send us a letter, and we’ll get you started’. I was expecting a much more prolonged affair, but I guess I got lucky?
(I also got lucky in that the endocrinologist I’ve been working with gives me the insurance discount off the cash price. I’ve also put in a suggestion to the powers that be at my employer that it’s something they should add to their already excellent benefits package.)
What makes me crazy is that she could have done this with any self-reported condition, e.g. depression, with the same results. And what would it prove, had she pretended to be depressed, instead? That depression isn’t real? That it shouldn’t be treated because someone - for some inexplicable reason - might be faking? I doubt she thinks that. The whole thing is so fundamentally stupid - she wasted her time, and more importantly that of those doctors, to prove no point (except that she’s an idiot). It makes me angry she used up resources that could have been used by someone who actually wanted them.
Pathetic. I’m not sure what copy of the Constitution UC Davis is working from, but I’m pretty sure threats and public harassment aren’t protected under the First Amendment. As evidenced by the fact police had to drag her out… Does that mean they think she has an argument that her rights were violated?
It would have proven it is a lot easier and faster to begin getting treatment for depression. No doctor would require therapy before prescribing meds if meds were called for. The good ones insist on therapy in conjunction, but not before. Particularly if there is any suicidal ideation.
Good for Lily getting out and having their own life. Though I’m concerned about the younger child. Hopefully they weren’t even at the hotel and all the histrionics about a son were nothing
Glad she got arrested. She deserved it. Also, who goes to Hawaii if they aren’t ok with queer folk? First state to legalize same sex marriage and all
She’d ban herself from Hawaiʻi if she understood anything about the high status of LGBTQ people in traditional Hawaiian culture. Please watch this beautiful two minute animation about māhū.
Not automatically. You have to contract with one of the many many companies who do it these days. When we went last year, I contracted with our driver to have us picked up at the airport, adorned with leis, then driven to the hotel. The car was quite fragrant. I imagine the natives are annoyed by tourists like us doing it all the time.
Guys dressing up to be as glamorous as possible, especially as a drag queen, sexuality aside, strikes me as the exact bleedin’ opposite of misogyny.
These guys don’t hate women!
What an asshole!
And a great example of how much these assholes lie about the motives for their actions. She says something about leaving if she can get a refund for her stay, and when the staff guy says, “okay, let’s go look at your reservation, come with me,” she won’t. Bc she doesn’t want to leave, she wants to make a big fucking spectacle.
I wonder what would’ve happened if the workers had just made a human fence or shield to separate her from the drag artists…
Also, notice at 1:30 ish she says, “I paid $3,000 to see this?” Like, she just had to point out how much she was spending.
Yeah, I don’t know if anyone’s name has ever been put to it, a la Godwin or Betteridge, but I think it’s pretty much a natural law that any organization that has “Freedom” or “Liberty” as part of its name can’t be trusted to uphold either of those things.
