The irony of it all is that one her own children is nonbinary, and sadly, according to The Sacramento Bee, thanks to Bourne’s hateful outlook, the two no longer speak.
The article is paywalled, unfortunately, but this seems like a not-uncommon situation. I think I recall similar cases of TERF parents alienating their trans kids in multiple other states. (Can’t find links because Google sucks now.)

Many (many) years ago I was in school in Pensacola. Being a new dorm rat i was “invited” to go drinking with the established dorm residents. Went into one place while, shall we say, pretty buzzed. Stumbled out with my ‘chaperones’ and I remarked that that was the ugliest woman I’ve seen do a lip sync. The other guys were laughing when they explained we were at a drag bar. The only thing that bothered me was I didn’t know about drag, not that I was in the drag bar. Still don’t give a danm aoubt who were’s what clothes.

I actually agree with her. This is not a scene I’d want my child to come down from the 30th floor to see. But it has nothing to do with the people she was yelling at, who I presume were minding their own business before she started acting like a jackass.

From the Sacremento Bee story “What Separates Them”, April 7, 2024, her previous behavior should have been bad enough to get her fired.
Last spring, she was served a restraining order from the Davis Joint Unified School District for sharing school teachers’ personal information. (The restraining order was ultimately revoked.) And she was at the center of several clashes at a Davis public library when a former college athlete tried to speak out against trans women in sports. She appears at most school board meetings to speak during public comment, and doesn’t shy away from shouting matches at protests and gatherings.
If you can find a way to get it the whole article is interesting. Bourne admits that she’s alienated pretty much everyone in her life; her coworkers don’t like her, former friends have asked her to stay away, and no one called her on her last birthday. Her daughter Lily said, “From my coming out to my moving out, her views that she expressed to me started to get more aggressive and more extreme.” But Lily also said this:
“One of the greatest motivators for humans is fear,” Lily said. "And (Beth ) was really afraid, because she felt like she was losing her child. And when somebody tells you: ‘It’s not your fault. Somebody else is taking your child; it’s not your fault that you’re losing them,’ that can be really appealing, and it can feel validating.
“And so I think it’s easier to feel like somebody else has hurt you than to realize that you have made a mistake.”
What “scene” do you think was happening in the lobby that justifies her screaming at people?

You’d think being part of a fascist group would be more than enough… But yeah, just that bit of what she was up to is damning.
Sounds like she refused to see how her behavior alienated her own daughter and so she ended up doubling down. I feel bad for her kids and anyone her behavior has impacted.
Well, that’s just fake news, while drag queens hurting kids is real… /s
