Because if such an eruption takes place, the military is ultimately the one responsible for handling it. Without this leverage, we are bound to see more extreme forms of suicidal reactions by Palestinians who feel that their backs are to the wall. The pace and the temperature and so on are going to be hotter and worse. And that’s not to be underestimated.
There will be violence.
