I’m 49. A year ago Logan Paul showed up in my YouTube feed because I follow my 11 year old neighbor Dylan’s YouTube channel.
Dylan makes quirky (and what I thought unique) videos. I thought he was possibly a genius. Unlike Paul, Dylan’s videos are less frenetic and more…esoteric? Dylan even promoted his channel with homemade handbills & painted rocks he planted thru the neighborhood.
Then I watched Logan Paul’s videos and realized who Dylan worships and is emulating.
Oh, Dylan.
I unsubscribed Logan 6 months ago but still follow Dylan. He took up skateboarding, tho. Not makin so many videos lately. GOOD.
p.s. My young neighbor does have creative skills and an intriguing imagination. And a kind face. I wonder if Logan used to be like that. What twisted & hardened his creative heart? I believe and hope he can soften, be malleable and reshape. With as much sway over preteens as he reportedly wields, this what we should all hope and encourage. Vilifying a 20 year old, beyond fitting punishment, is self destructive as a society.
I haven’t watched the whole suicide forest clip, don’t wanna. I’m sickened by the idea of it. But HE IS 20. TEACH HIM. i pray positive influences lead him the right way thru remorse and making amends.

And they still haven’t explained how the video remained on the human-curated trending list for so long.

@apalatn: I’ve gotten these autoplay ads/videos several times now. Even if I close the window, when I re-open they continue playing. It’s supremely annoying.
I’m glad his dad is proud of his obnoxious, callous and ignorant son. I’ll bet dad is even more proud of the cash flow his son brings in.
He’s just going to stand there.
