Plus, anyone with training knows better to bring a pistol to to an assault rifle fight. Anyone without training figures that out pretty quick. But even against someone armed with a pistol, people (even those with police/military training) have a very hard time shooting another human being, so the shooter has a massive, massive advantage. The idea that untrained armed civilians are going to take down an active shooter is a Hollywood fantasy that falls apart on contact with reality.

America will insist on living out its cowboy fantasy, though.

Apparently it’s easier when the other human being is black?

Or Brown. Or Trans. Or physically/mentally disabled…

Come to think of it, it’s almost like the only lives that seem to have any real value at all to many people are straight White male lives.

But he did offer ‘thoughts and prayers’. ‘Heartfelt thought and prayers’ even. What more do you want?

In all seriousness he needs to get the message out that the people committing these horrible crimes, including the ones doing so in his name, are worthless pieces of shit who have no place in our country.

But he won’t, because he simply can’t bring himself to say bad things about people who support him.

So the body count will continue to rise.

In den USA ist es leicht, in den Besitz von Waffen zu gelangen, so dass es häufiger zum Schusswaffengebrauch und vereinzelt auch Amokläufen kommt.

Yes… Again. Because America does nothing to stop it.
The end.

Translation for those of you that dont speak german:

"(German) Office of foreign affairs - USA / United States: Travel- and Security informations

Last changes: Security, natural desasters, Informations on travels (traveling to Cuba), restructuring, editoral changes and additions

In the USA it is very simple to aquire fire arms, so that use of fire arms occurs often and mass shootings are occasional."

So the german federal office of foreign affairs warns visitors to the US that there is a risk of getting shot.

China has done that. And when my employer sends people to the US for business, they tell them to assume everybody is armed.

I read, “The shooter was taken into custody, unharmed.” and thought, “White Privilege”.

If they think clearly, they will realize the police will be on their way and lots of people with guns out will only confuse the issue for them. Maybe the “good guys” start shooting each other from the start when they fail to identify the correct perpetrator, There is a reason people wear easily identifiable uniforms in war, and even then friendly fire is common.

Apparently, it is ALWAYS too soon to discuss Gun Control. :frowning:

  • The United States has more violent crime than Australia, although it rarely involves tourists. Shootings, including mass shootings, can occur in public places. See Safety and security

I wonder how many shootings per day it will take before people decide sensible gun control might just possibly be on the table. My guess is “as many as it takes to kill literally every person in the USA”.

I guess the problem is that the shooters think they are the goods guys…
