So I seem to recall the school constable at Marjorie Stoneman in Florida was charged with dereliction of duty for not going in in the active shooter situation. Should any person with a gun in that WalMart be charged with the same?
Of course I am not serious, but if the only way one can imagine preventing these events is a well armed populace, it’s the logical next step.
I thought that Sandy Hook might do it: 26 people, 20 of them small children, most of them white and suburban. But after seeing nothing done afterward (except, apparently, politicians scared of losing the votes of Alex Jones followers) I gave up on seeing any meaningful change. Demographic change may make it possible in 2030 or so, but we have to keep fighting for it, though.
