Same as it ever was. This needs to change. I have hopes, but so far only hopes. We shall see.

The difference between Georgia electing two democrats and any other situation couldnā€™t be more stark. Has there ever been a single state-wide election that would have more impact?

Using robocalls to try to provoke a coup is pretty on brand for 2020

The campaign strategistsā€™ take is surely that any additional attention to Black voters would have been wasted.
I believe this is called ā€œtaking the Black vote for grantedā€ and it will be sound strategy until it isnā€™t.

Hopefully when it isnā€™t, it is because the two party system has become the Biden Democrats and the AOC Democrats, and it is middle class white men who are taken for granted by the Biden Democrats.

Website of Trumpā€™s only remaining lawyer in PA cases

Uh huh.

A law firm representing Trump in his attempt to challenge the election count in Pennsylvania has withdrawn from the case.

Porter Wright Morris & Arthur said in a court motion filed late Thursday that attorneys Ronald L. Hicks Jr. and Carolyn B. McGee would no longer be representing Trumpā€™s campaign in the case.

ā€œPlaintiffs and Porter Wright have reached a mutual agreement that Plaintiffs will be best served if Porter Wright withdraws,ā€ the attorneys said in their motion.

The firm said Trumpā€™s campaign was ā€œin the process of retainingā€ other attorneys to represent it. Linda A. Kerns, a Philadelphia attorney who is representing Trump in a flurry of lawsuits in the stateā€™s courts, will remain on the case

Of course, thereā€™s also what Biden administration does (or doesnā€™t do) until the next election. If they deliver good, or at least okay, results to Black Americans, I would imagine they will get the Black votes, even if they spend most of the the election season pursuing other demographics.

Biden does seem to do better on that count more than most of his DNC establishment colleagues. Thatā€™s not to say heā€™ll be listening to younger or more progressive Black Americans, but heā€™s shown a genuine ablity to connect with the more traditionalist leaders of Black voting blocs (local party bosses, preachers, old-line organisations like the NAACP).

youā€™ve made a good point here. one other thing i like about him is that he seems willing, happy even, to use the extremely high level of privilege he carries with him (older, wealthy, white, establishment) and at least acts like heā€™s interested in using that privilege to help out people who donā€™t carry so much.

speaking as a middle-aged, middle class, white guy from texas thatā€™s a project iā€™ve been on for many years and one iā€™m attuned to. biden is far from privilege-blind and really does seem interested in the hard work of lifting the underprivileged up.

That was the firm that introduced a ā€œPoll Watcherā€ who said he was obstructed from carrying out his duties but neglected to mention that said poll watcher was a lawyer at the same firm until forced to admit so on cross-examination. So they are not merely withdrawing, they are also facing public humiliation and serious damage to their firmā€™s reputation.

Mr. Trumpā€™s personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, introduced Mr. Mercer as a volunteer election observer who had been ā€œobstructed in a horrible way.ā€ Mr. Mercer added, ā€œWeā€™re there, supposedly observing, but we canā€™t see.ā€

Neither mentioned that Mr. Mercer was a lawyer at the firm that was representing Mr. Trumpā€™s campaign. Reached on Friday, Mr. Mercer declined to comment.
