And elsewhere, another one bites the dust.
In an interview last week with The Washington Post, Mr. McAleenan complained about what he called the “tone, the message, the public face and approach” of immigration policy — a not-so-subtle reproach of the president’s own language.
The comments enraged some of the president’s staunchest allies, who had already targeted Mr. McAleenan for resisting nationwide deportation raids this year against migrant families.

I was shocked and surprised when I read that article; shocked that, with impeachment looming, Pompeo and Trump are still planning a war with Iran, and surprised that I could still be shocked by anything they do. Then Trump went to the press room and took a dump on a set of antique petticoats formerly owned by Queen Elizabeth and I forgot all about whatever that was with the troops and the oil and the dude with the bone saw.
/satire mostly; though I was kind of shocked, Dog knows why. What better time to start a war than when your trending down in the polls?
And the petticoat thing happened, probably. I’m pretty sure.

It is interesting how support for Trump seems to come from unpolled people.
Just like the election when Clinton was projected to win, his core base of support seems to be polling well. Rasmussen wavers lately between 46 and 49 percent approval. Doesn’t budge. And yet rally attendance is flagging.
