Oh my god, nobody could possibly have predicted this! Nobody knew oil could be so complicated.
I’m on a reddit thread about this right now. A guy’s literally said “if you’re anti oil, how are you communicating with me right now?”
So I had to shoot back “if you’re pro oil, why aren’t you drinking a quart of kerosene right now?”

I watched this last night
I DO NOT AGREE with Colbert about having the live televised hearings in the morning. What would be good for his show is not the best option for the American people. They need to air in on prime time so it gives more people time to watch before Ingraham & Carlson get a chance to twist themselves into knots.

The problem with that, is that most of their work happens during the day, in the normal working time for many Americans (9 to 5ish). They can and do have votes and discussions on the floor or meetings for hammering out legislation late into the night, but hearings like these are often during the work day.
However, they can be aired whenever, outside of the live coverage for c-span or on NPR or wherever.

I only realized maybe a half decade ago that Ontario, Canada is randomly a green energy super power. It must seem weird to outsiders that our chief electrical supplier is called “Ontario Hydro”, but for us “hydro” is synonymous with electricity.

Same here in BC.
My dad is a denier and refuses to believe that our move to electric vehicles is anything other than “pandering to environmentalists”. I say that it’s also about the kind of energy independence that conservatives like him claim to love: we have a lot of Hydro capacity in this province. Why should we be dictated by oil-producers when we can supply our own, alternative energy sources?
He’s hugely anti-electric vehicle, because he thinks he won’t have a pickup truck anymore.
