Not sure if this could possibly be real, or just wishful thinking. It pulls together a plausible timeline of fuckery, but requires we believe that the saviors of the country are (mostly) Republicans? If this plays out, I will personally nominate Burr and McCabe for sainthood, but I need to see some tangible proof first.
It reads to me like another desperate grab of “[institution] will save us!” along with a generous sprinkling of “deep state!”… in other words, it feels like the kind of mixed-up projectionism that someone like Jacob Whol or Project Veritas would come up with to “trap” the left.
Stop waiting for a saviour, there’s none coming. The people have to save themselves.
God forbid he looks alone and isolated as he currently is
Honestly, it’d have to be in order to convince half the country that it was legitimate. Even then, you are going to get a lot of people screaming “RINO!”.
I agree with this though:
Let’s not get our hopes up.
Amen. 3.5 long years of waiting for the built in “checks and balances” to kick in, for the adults in the room to speak up, for the people with half a fucking moral compass to come out and say “this ends now, this is not America”…
It takes this fraud deploying troops against his own people for former generals — people immune to threats of retribution or career derailment — to make half-assed, milquetoast criticisms of an absolute tyrant.
What a journey ahead we have.
THE GOP THINKS THIS IS NORMAL
I don’t think so. The GOP is scared shitless. They are doing their best to put on a show of things being normal, but they are very afraid of the movement BLM has created. Trump is afraid, but doesn’t really grasp the scale of things. Other Republicans do, and they are shitting themselves.
failing his most important test
How was he at drawing the clock face?
The FBI was secretly working with the Senate Intelligence Committee to help them publish a report on the FBI counterintelligence investigation.
Because that sounds like a recipe for success.
This whole thing reads like a bad made for TV miniseries and I would be shocked if it were true or actually comes to fruition. There’s been so many carrots dangled in front of us over the past few years promising that this will be the moment we finally get that fucker out and then nothing.
It happened with the Mueller report, it happened with impeachment, it happened with any of the other 10 million scandals that would have sunk any other presidentpublic figure over the past several years. At this point I have no confidence that this, if real, will finally be the thing that gets rid of Trump.
And I’d sure love to be wrong about that.
The more I process this, the more it sounds like someone just turned Qanon on its head and said “wouldn’t this be cool?” Happy to be proven wrong, but not anticipating it.
And ultimately, it would still require 67 votes in the Senate to hold the fucker accountable, and there is nothing, nothing that will make that happen. Remember the article in The Onion about GOP senators “expressing concern and disappointment” as Trump personally strangles their family members? Yeah, that’s not parody.
I can’t even read The Onion anymore. Parody is dead in this day and age. Yet another thing Trump has ruined.
It would be nice to think so. Is there anything in particular that’s led you to think so?
Yes. The about-face from “the victims deserved what they got and the protesters are violent, anti-American thugs” to “I have always agreed with Black Lives Matter and we all need to work toward a more equal country (please don’t kill me!)” in roughly one week.
ETA: That’s not just the GOP, either. That’s also many Dem politicians who initially held the pro-police line after George Floyd’s murder.
Thanks.
that those are just early dominoes!
WHOOPS!
