Bars fill up with thirsty patrons after Wisconsin court strikes down stay-at-home order

So yoinked.

I was just noting today how while President Im-peached was talking about a vaccine being around the corner that the anti-vac people have been pretty quiet (as far as I know).

I wonder if they are just saving their energy up to rage out when there is a vaccine?

I foresee major discord when a reliable vaccine is finally found and all those who refuse it end up banned from attending schools, etc.

“I’d rather die than take that!”

*sigh
Fucking idiots.

Sadly, no. But I find the idea charming in a Don Draper way.

I do remember vent windows on cars. I miss those little triangular windows, they were so cute.

Yes, things are ugly now, and it seems like everything is only going to get worse between now and the primary election. And post election I don’t even want to consider. No matter how it goes, emboldened racist assholes are not going away. I don’t see how the pressure that is building is going to be released in a non-destructive way. :disappointed:

If only it was ONLY them who died…

Pandemics really test one’s patience and one’s morals, don’t they?

Well, they voted against the “right” party, so they don’t count. /s

Yep.

Lucky me, I’ve been on some ‘Gloria Gaynor’ mentality, long before any of this global craziness started:

I’m certain enough of the stupidity of opening up everything that I am willing to put a prediction in “print”. Wisconsin had 340 new cases yesterday, and 200 a few days ago. If this opening up is as stupid as I think it is, I predict 2,000 cases a day by around June 1.

On the other hand, if it’s less than 500 (since opening at all obviously increases the rate), that would indicate that my opposition to such a measure was misplaced.

Plandemic - that dodgy viral conspiracy video doing the rounds from an anti-vaxxer who thinks wearing a mask ‘activates’ the virus (surprised it wasn’t 5G).

Sadly, they’ve been busy.

As bad as this sucks, its just the worst in a long legacy of episodes where stubborness was allowed to beat science at the expense of human lives.“lightning rods cheat god’s will”, “Just say no” , “abstinence education”,“pray the gay away”… all of these have had a very real, avoidable human cost. And letting those ignorant savages keep their backward practices at the expense of innocent human lives has emboldened these fuckers to ask for more next time.

Even just letting churches get away with not paying taxes-while they are still allowed to take out emergency loans- only serves to encourage this behavior.

The inevitable covid deaths may serve to take some of the wind out of their sails, if rational humans can just protect themselves from unmasked typhoid marys. But it will take real, honest political work to defang the beast and render this movement harmless.

That’s when I reconsider just how much off the mark I was when I used to think that “irony” was being pointed out too often before. Now that’s irony.

They didn’t have to go through the usual trouble of staging it. :slightly_smiling_face:

Their clueless leader hasn’t gone all “anti” on a covid vaccine, so they’re taking their cue from that so far.
