I don’t have that familiarity. Many others won’t, either.
I recognize that.
I’m sorry, what’s rude? Yes, we should all wisely pick our battles, but we’re all different people with different priorities. So the battles I choose may not be ones you would, and vice versa.
If they insist on drawing them that size and shape, they might as well apply a little gravity to 'em, is all. I know physics don’t apply to comic books (and especially not to superheroes), but I’d be slightly more inclined to read them if they adhered to this one minor point.
At some point or another, we all say or do shit that unintentionally make someone uncomfortable, hurts someone, or alienates someone. I accept that it wasn’t intentional, but that doesn’t make it less uncomfortable.
Yeah, pretty much that. Noone wanted to to make others uncomfortable, it happened, and as unfair as it feels the person saying/doing the uncomfortable thing doesn’t get to dictate how it’s received. Even if it’s meant in a light hearted, unconfrontational way.
And in that note, anyone can call me Shiny anytime they want–ive watched waaay to much Firefly.
The Internet is the Great Decontextualizer, William H. is a solid, and I’ve made waaaaay worse comments. But they are usually about myself
But the fundamental point is a person never gets to dictate how they should be understood. Anyway, back to searching for fish gifs to generally annoy the crowd here
Oh, yeah…I’ve kind of accepted that sometimes people just get set off by things. And if they’re really cool then sometimes I change for them. I’ll also admit that if I might be a bit more snarky than normal if I feel like somebody’s just poking at me because they’re spoiling for a fight…and that’s kind of become my impression which may have colored a couple of responses.
Exactly.
I have certainly seen my share of questionable comments, and many are much more vulgar and disgusting. But his still make me uncomfortable, and I’d like that to be taken into consideration. That’s about it.
