Good news, on a couple of fronts, from New Jersey.

Well, you know, the WRONG people might vote for their own freedom and we can’t have that, can we! Only certain white men get to decide that! GOD says so!!! /s

I have been getting the junk mail pictured here for several consecutive days. Elisabeth Epps got my vote without reservations the first time and will get it again.

Funny how there is no mention of what this is really about:

The sender’s name was on there, and he appears in this article. Not running this time. We are all against antisemitism, but wow, talk about avoiding the elephant in the living room… Despicable, but typical hasbara. Apparently, GADS (genocide apartheid derangement syndrome) runs strong in CO and matters a lot.

I have not heard a single person talking about covid, they just make this crap up.

He goes on about democrats wanting to lock the country down due to new covid variants.

He also says they’re just using covid as an excuse to push mail in ballots.

I wonder if those are the same mail in ballots he’s been promoting lately.

Just come back from voting and for the first time in my life I held my nose and voted 10 and 11 for Fianna FĂĄil and Fine Gael candidates. And stopped there as the last 12 on the paper were a clown car of racists and rape enthusiasts.

I spent much of this week depressed that one of the crazies might get elected (specifically Wiggy Boylan, a repulsive piece of shit) but I don’t think they will. The three main parties will get in and several left wing candidates will be decided by the order of elimination. I think. It’s going to be a long and messy count. There will be court cases. (I guess, it’s trendy and in the news so I think they will use their shady cash for them).

At least one is in play elsewhere in the country though.

Shameful. I’m ashamed. And angry at our “liberal” media for platforming the worst of the worst and lending their respectability to fringe nutsacks with repulsive ideas.

Of course, I mean over here, too, us having this same issue. :sob: I’m sorry. I wish we all had better choices.

How can that possibly be after her performance in those debates? What, people watched that and said, “Wow, she’s a moron! She’s got my vote!” WTF?

Polls are broken but 40% is tough to grasp even in that context.

I’m lucky in some ways. I got to vote no.1 for a feminist socialist just transition green anti imperialist anti Nazi and she’s been my local representative for years. She’s up for European election but I don’t think she’ll make it unfortunately.

To put her in perspective I watch the Sunday morning politics show fairly regularly and she is the only person I’ve seen on it who when talking about cost of living said food as the first thing.

We all need food. We need to stop subsidising petro. Food is up more than fossil fuels.

If she gets in she’ll displace a left green who’s a good and capable policy wonk in Europe or Clare Daly who does good YouTube as a lefty but has not got the public in that we consider Ukraine and Gaza as imperialist wars of oppression. Not just Gaza.

I have argued at my local mosque restaurant that her fiery rhetoric isn’t actually helpful and that People Before Profit are actually better allies to Muslims.

Most of my reps (state and federal level) are pretty much centrist Democrats… not awful, but not great? They just moved my congressional district and I went from having a more leftist centrist rep in Washington who had a strong focus on gun control and other issues that I care about (Lucy McBath - the state GOP keep moving her district because of how much they hate her), to a much more centrist, center right guy (still a Democrat) who has corruption issues and has been in office forever (13 or 14 terms, I think). I voted for a more progressive candidate in the primary who seemed pretty good, but the incumbent ran away with it… :sob:

I envy your choices!
