Elon Musk and Joe Rogan smoke out

Jeeezus. Three hours of conversation, some of it quite interesting and revealing, and all people can talk about is “OMG he took a hit off a blunt! On TV!”

One hit, one cigar-style puff with no inhale, of TOTALLY LEGAL California recreational weed, all the while talking about how he almost never smokes weed because he finds it bad for productivity, and, next thing you know, all the “But what will stockholders think?” concern trolls are out in force.

Personally, as a stockholder, I thought it was mildly amusing. And I’m pleased at the opportunity to pick up a few more shares at a bargain price.

But mostly, I’m reassured that so many people, in this comment section and elsewhere, are certain that they could do “being Elon” better than Elon can. So if anything tragic ever does befall him, there will always be plenty of replacement candidates, far more qualified to be “the new Elon” than Elon himself.

But, really, all this “OMG OMG, a CEO on TV on WEEEEEEEED!” hysteria is some of the weirdest pecksniffian secular moralizing I’ve ever seen.

Some of you could use to chill out a bit. Maybe smoke a blunt or something.

I wouldn’t call him objective or neutral. But he’s definitely open, you can air out an idea on how show good or bad.

… should have gone short.

Some middle-aged men don’t have male pattern baldness, so they’re looking for something else to complete their lives.

My first thought was hey wait, that’s not Joe Rogan!!!

Then I looked on the internet, and found out I was thinking of Seth Rogan – a comedian guy, one of whose movies I accidentally watched.

my deepest sympathies and I wish a speedy recovery from that nightmare experience.

Rogan is a really strange animal. He believes in LGBT and women’s rights and at the same time he’s good friends with Alex Jones. Sometimes he makes sense and other times he’s just full of shit.

Interesting, but the linked article is from 2010. I have watched several other of his You tube videos where he says he supports LGBT rights. Maybe he has just evolved? At the same time, my previous posting does state he is good friends with Alex Jones and he recently made statements supporting Jones. Maybe he’s just plain crazy and doesn’t know what he believes.

I am pretty sure that show was in CA, so nbd really. And it looked like he maybe inhaled some tiny amount, not a proper lungful. Most of it was in his mouth for a moment then out in a big cloud. See, my problem is he is wasteful! Short the stock short short short!

Actually acting a bit kooky is a good way to drive down the stock price. Buy some at a 20% discount, then make or break thru some shipping milestone and you’ve just made some money. Not sure how this works with his “I’m taking Tesla private. Funding secured! Over n out!” several days later… “uh, maybe not, k? bye”

Remember Jones use to be less of crazy Nazi and more of a crazy conspiracy nut. Rogan liked to indulge in conspiracy theories and follow them down the rabbit holes. Though he will admit they are all pretty much unprovable. I mean, back in the day Jones was seen more of a ranty Art Bell. Someone you didn’t believe but listened to for entertainment. I am not sure when it switched to people taking him more seriously. But I believe that is where their relationship started.

But I’ve heard him distance himself from Jones recently, and even called Jones out for telling his audience things were happening to Rogan which was no true. He also didn’t defend Jones from being removed from youtube.

I dunno, like I said I poke in on a show clip now and again. He doesn’t seem squarely on anyone one side, and like in the example of LGBT he may at one point say people should be able to be what they want or do what they want, but that doesn’t mean he may not also make a comment poking fun or make a comment that he doesn’t understand something. In the context of the show there is a lot of back and forth. I think unlike a lot of people his opinions are plastic. Like a lot of people they are more grey and moderate than one side or another - which is unlike a lot of people in media.

It’s actually a two-hour interview about all sorts of topics. Hats off to Boing Boing for distorting yet another Musk moment.

At 0:40, he takes what appears to be his first draw, and then blows it back out of his mouth without inhaling. Does he fake it the whole time? I can’t be bothered to watch.

I wonder if employees at any of his enterprises are drug tested.

that’s perfect

I’ve been warm then cold and now tepid with Rogan. I liked some of his latest stand up, but I stopped the musk interview the minute he brought up “magnets” again.
