Floridians gonna Florida.
FWIW, Wheels Up, Guns Down doesn’t appear to be an “annual bicycle ride”, it appears to be an annual hostile takeover of South Florida streets by super squids on non-street legal dirt bikes and ATVs. It’s purpose is ostensibly to protest gun violence.
Not to say that there couldn’t be a concurrent bicycle ride protest of gun violence, but I didn’t find it in my quick search.
Post modernism is a hell of a drug…
Floridians gonna Floridate?
Do you think when people are against fluoridation of water they are just making a spelling error?
That’s it! It’s not ignorance of how oral hygiene works, but confusion over language!
Disagree. I take it to mean a specific subspecies of Homo sapiens sapiens Floridaensis, whose executive functions seem to be relatively compromised and whose empathy gland has never fully developed. But I could be wrong…
ETA: Not to be confused with a similarly named but somewhat more evolved version of genus Homo:
Please admit that if this was confused all the time, it would actually be super funny.
So admitted, and agree, the LOLs would be huge!
These are not mutually exclusive. Florida Man as a relic population of H.s.s. Floridaensis would work in my scenario.
Thanks everyone for clearing that up. I thought that assault meant physical interaction.
It includes physical (hitting, punching, stabbing), but also non-physical indications that there’s a clear threat of imminent harm (hand-waving, pointing at a knife, a finger across the throat, pursuit, directed hate speech).
It doesn’t mean all words or gestures are assaults, of course, it has to be combined with a defendable position that a reasonable person would be afraid of being hurt in the specific context and situation.
Christ, what a Trumpist.
Another responsible gun owner makes themselves known.
Everybody’s so tan I can’t tell who’s right.
you’re forgetting the second half of that saying–
“an armed society is a polite society
in which the most heavily armed define politeness.”
I suspect Florida man might take exception to your characterization of him as ‘Homo’ anything. Careful, he is armed and ignorant.
Consider me forewarned.
Please, it’s Extra-Florida-nary. We’re not savages.
