Watched this last night. He was quite willing to torture himself to raise money and his friend was quite touched that he would constantly do this to himself in support of her and others who have similar conditions.

This is why voting matters. Why rejecting the fascists and bringing in more progressive voices, even if they are not as progressive as you might want. Taking steps in the right direction always beats the hell out of steps toward the camps.

Donât forget that what the trash in the Supreme Court is doing is overturning victories and rightsâto abortion, to debt relief, to wetlands protection, to equality for same-sex couples and queer people. These things were won in recent history, and they can be reclaimed. They will be, and the faster we can the less the suffering and damage will be.
Donât lose sight of the fact that the only reason we have such a conservative government and supreme court is voter suppressionâif everyone truly had voting rights in this country, weâd be a far more progressive, climate-friendly, human-rights protection, economically equal society (not a perfect one but a better one, and donât forget that the perfect is the enemy of the good).
So voting rights is a climate issue, an economic justice issue, a healthcare and reproductive rights issue, a racial justice issue, a trans and queer-rights issue, an equality issue, and if you have your voting rights go out there and vote, which is not the end-all and be-all of democracy, but an important piece of it nevertheless.
Find your heroes who didnât give up when it looked impossible, then unlikely, then difficult, those people who changed the world through passion and stubbornness, find your allies, find your campaigns, find your own passion and will and strength, because itâs there, along with the devastation of these new decisionsâŚ
They want you to feel defeated and powerless, so spit in their eye and stand up and find your path forward. Our path forward.
