I had a similar neighbor, who had a bunch of signs in his front flower bed as well as a huge banner strung high above his front yard, strung between two trees. They were nowhere to be seen before election day, but appeared on the day once it was clear that Trump won. (Trump supporters are outnumbered in my county 19 to 1.) And the signs stayed up throughout November, December, and January, but disappeared around Valentines Day. I wondered if he changed his mind about the President, but no. I heard through the grapevine that he was told to remove the signs by the local government because of an ordinance regarding the length of time you’re allowed to display temporary signage, especially if someone complains to the local zoning board.

sure, I probably have a similar ordinance here, but the bumper stickers too? That a 100% removal of any sign of support from someone totally over the top about it. I’m only used to seeing that when people take their ball and go home.

Yeah, that struck me as weird. Like, people usually leave those on until they bleach into nothing or the car’s sold.
Could be a passive-aggressive response to a zoning letter or something but I dunno…

Other people still have signs up, so I dunno either. But I know it made me happy. I was tired of driving past his house and having to not get out of the car and rip that shit down (because I am not that guy, I may want to but I don’t behave that way).

There was also the little detail, that Hillary Clinton was actually qualified to be a Presidential Advisor. Her qualifications and experience had prepared her for a job beyond maximizing profits in the White House gift shop. In addition throughout Clinton’s Presidential campaign it was made clear that HC wouldn’t just be the traditional First Lady, flower arranger in chief, but would model herself on Eleanor Roosevelt and take on a professional role.
But hey ho…HC is the devil, while Ivanka is the sun king’s child on whom fate has smiled.

Hard to protest properly when cops can and will show up in gear that’s rarely seen outside of millitaries to force you to stay in ‘freedom of speech zones,’ are massivly corrupt in some districts (As shown in atlanta during the scientology protsts,) have media more than willing to help paint protesters as useless timewasters (Occupy, though granted they had problems of their own on that regard,) and joe public is convinced ‘pussy hats’ worn by trump protesters meant waring vaginas on thri heads.
We are the same country where in the sixties war protesters had firehoses, teargas, and attack dogs sent on them. Probably not that impressive anymore given that was literally fifty years ago, but we have had our protests, and by and large… unless it is a nation wide coordinated effort that is so large it MUST be covered… ‘normal’ people who’s hearts and minds are what you want to win will ignore it, mke fun of it, or simply not have time to care.
