The thing about the Robert Smith and Morrissey feud is that they hadn’t ever met before Morrissey started it. Now, Siouxsie Sioux and Morrissey, they collaborated on a duet version of Timi Yuro’s “Interlude” and then Siouxsie wanted nothing to do with his nationalism. Content warning for sexual imagery in the language on that second link, but I’m not familiar with that “Q” magazine which was quoted, and I’m not havaing success finding another quote of it.
Yup. The only way I could make sense of that in my head was that he had fallen 30 metres off a stage into a film set. Which seemed a bit unlikely, but I couldn’t find another explanation that made sense until I read the article.
Q was, for a time, in my opinion the best music publication in print - when is started in the mid 80’s it was revolutionary - at least in my little suburbia.
