Roy Moore continues to defy reality

I came here to post the same thing. I left satisfied.

I think voting in the senate to overturn a senate election for partisan reasons is probably overtly anti-democratic enough to be noticed even by Republican senators. Well, by 8-10% of Republican senators, anyway.

I hope that you’re right!

Although there are a fair number of republicans who thinks we should go back to having senators being appointed instead of elected state-wide.

I was going to say, “well that, and I can’t imagine most people in the armed forces are particularly fond of overt child molesters” but then just shy of half the people who voted cast their ballot for a man who is not only a disgusting man-child who dresses in cowboy outfits like a goddamned six-year-old and has no respect whatsoever for the destructive power of firearms, but who also has a fairly significant number of credible reports that he made a habit of fucking 14 year old girls. So given that, I just don’t know. An awful lot of far-right kool-aid gets passed around in the US military, so maybe a lot of people have been convinced that it’s just a “secret leftist plot” or something.

There’s fewer people in the military drinking far right kook aid than you think (outside of the general officers). Some of the bluest counties in the South are those with military installations. The military offers a way out of Alabama for many Alabamans of color.

That’s good to hear. I’ve got a lot of family in the military and as of late they’ve basically been main-lining the kool-aid so it’s reassuring to hear that this isn’t universally the case.

Yes, it is a mere form. It is how polite people acknowledge the democratic process, and how complete assholes pretend to be polite people. He is like Trump, and he can’t even convincingly pretend to not be an asshole for five whole minutes.

I can’t look at that terrible face, attached to that terrible man, without thinking of Colbert’s Pac strategist, Ham Rove.

See, I have two type of Trump supporting friends. The first is the nihilist you describe, but the second seem to believe that God is going to hold everything together so we can just destroy society and then rebuild a better one. From scratch. No problem. The first I can understand, but the second causes me sleepless nights.

Was that meant as a jab at Hillary, who had the gall to actually wait until the next morning to confirm the ballots were all counted before publicly conceding a close election in which she actually received millions more votes than her opponent?

Because that’s not really the same thing, bro.

Of course it was.

And at the supposed hivemind here, supposedly comprised of a unified swarm of mindless Hillarybots.

Every time I hear this asshat say that God’s going to determine the winner, this video keeps popping into my head:

The problem is that they’re not going to concede that their favored child molester was beaten in an honest fight.

The problem is that “Those people” (read as “black people”) were able to somehow able to unfairly outvote (read: GOP mindset will allege ballot stuffing etc…) the honest votes of god fearing “real americans” (read as “white folks”).

It’s another goddamn commie librul plot by Goerge Soros and the Homosexual Agenda!

(it would almost be funny if it wasn’t so close to the truth of how many people think in this country)

Well, maybe he just had a really bad experience once, and needs a skilled caring lover (talking about the whole sodomy thing…)

At least it’s “just” about a Senate seat. Could you imagine what would happen if a governor were to pull this kind of stunt?
