I’m following all his tantrums from across the pond. He is, without doubt, the most disgusting and vile creature ever to be voted in to what must be the most powerful position in the world, He acts like an attention-seeking spoilt child at every chance he gets and, as for all the toadying personel he has accumulated around him, I’m lost for words! Get him out by fair mean or foul!

It only took 35 years, but I finally found something I agree with Donald Trump about. Albeit, Li’l Donald is just fidgeting because, for 30 seconds, the attention is off him.
But why are American ball-tossing events treated as sacred nationalistic ceremonies? There should not be national anthems. There should not be military displays. There should not be soldiers marching the flags in. It is ridiculous.

Well, to get meta, they were a stand-in for war during war. That’s how all this garbage started: during WW2 was when they first introduced the anthem before games. Now, of course, you can never leave it out (how unpatriotic!) and conservatives despise change in any form anyway. Just like with “In God We Trust” (that was also put on US currency in time of [cold] war), we’re stuck with it.
