Tucker Carlson and Fox parting ways after $787.5 million goof

I do love it that self projection BS was one of the last things he’ll ever say on that shitty network.

And that makes me think this firing isn’t doubling down. I think it’s instead a (completely disingenuous) effort to show they’re cleaning up their act before the subsequent lawsuits.

I think we’ll see a general turning down of the Fascism dial at Fox, at least until the lawsuits blow over (and assuming that paying for further damages doesn’t blow their whole house over).

“Tonight on In The Kitchen With David and Tucker they are going to talk about sexy M&Ms, the globalists who want you to eat bugs and this new air fryer.” (sorry, my mom is obsessed with David’s show )

There was another one in the thread I got that one that I might have made a slight edit to…

…or gbnews, the UK’s fox adjacent BS channel. He knows fuck all about politics on either side of The Pond, so he’d fit in well.

What a w :anchor: it is.

Ooh, here’s a thought. Maybe he and don “mr misogyny” lemongrab can get a London flatshare and both work there. gbnews always needs more wimmen haterz.

Klepper made a really good point about this the other day:

ETA: Can’t get the time stamp to work, for some reason. It’s all worth watching, but 1:30 is what I was referring to specifically.

While I am sure he and Dan Bingbongo will continue to spread their bullshit through podcasts, radio shows, and maybe something like OAN, etc. hopefully like Glenn Beck or Bil O’Reilly, they will only have a fraction of their audience.

Still - good to celebrate a “win”.

Maybe they’ll send him to cover Ukraine as a field reporter.

Yeah, thanks. I think Klepper’s point would be a good one if Dominion were the only lawsuit. But more are coming, some with what will likely be even larger payouts.

I still think that while they haven’t learned not to lie, they’re probably going to find out that fucking around as much as they have does NOT pay well. To me, this abrupt firing of their most popular popinjay shows that.

Apparently that was a fairly brief situation. They panicked about it but the shift in viewers towards OANN and NewsMax reversed itself. Audiences there started shrinking again post Jan 6. And OANN’s been dropped by every major carrier. The network is practically speaking dead, unavailable on cable or satellite. They even sued to try and prevent it, saying the network would go under without a carrier contract.

Carriers have also tried to drop NewsMax but DirectTV got pressed by political pressure to keep carrying the channel. And NewsMax’s website is influential.

In both cases the networks were getting dropped due small audiences and poor ad sales. So outside of the website NewsMax’s days are probably numbered too.

The reveal of Carlson’s texts and personal messages during the Dominion suit apparently had a serious impact on Fox’s ratings though. And a lot of those messages were directly attacking executives and management.
